- Couples Leagues
Information & format.
- DATES: Every
Monday from 4/30/07(make up date)- 8/20/07- Banquet 8/27/07 No
Golf- 5/28/07 matches start 5/7/07
- TIMES:
4 groups- 3:00-3:45, 3:55-4:40, 4:50-5:35,
5:45-6:30 PM
- FORMAT:
Each week couples will be scheduled to play another couple. Along
with their scheduled match, their score will be matched against
another couple so each couple will play two matches a week. We play
a better ball format. Each player plays their first shot then the
couple must choose which shot they prefer to play and each play from
that spot. They continue this process (including putting) to they
hole out. They receive one score for the couple. They will compete
against each other using stroke play (total score minus handicap).
All couples will play with handicaps based on league scores- couples
playing last year will carry over last year's handicap while new
couples will establish one after week and it will be adjusted
weekly. Each win is worth 2 points and a tie is one point. The last
4 weeks are playoff weeks and match ups are determined by standings.
During the playoff matches wins are worth 3 points. All couples will
be divided by time slots and then rated by handicaps (A & B flight)
after June 25th matches. After this division there will be 8
divisions. Look for the playoff official rules as we get closer to
that date.
-
- MAKE-UPS:
Each couple will be allowed to play 3 matches before June 4th to be
used as make-ups. The make ups are rounds played in advanced and are
used when needed. We call these BANK scores & the Bank scores are
used in the order they are played. To play a bank round a couple
must get a bank card from the cashier have it dated and it must be
returned immediately after the completion of the round & must be
attested by another couple. These make-ups or bank rounds will
be used as needed when a couple does not show. Each couple is
allowed 3 bank rounds. Also couples can play matches in advance with
their opponents as long as they indicate on the card they are
playing and it's with the scheduled couple & played before their
scheduled date. The June 4th date can be changed if weather
conditions cause a restrictive number of days available for
make-ups.
-
- MAY matches-
All couples will have until June 4th to play their first 4 matches.
No scores will be tallied until after June 4th. Couples who miss any
of the first 4 weeks (May 7-June 4) can still get credit for the match
providing they play a make-up or bank before June 4th. In other
words, all couples must have 4 matches played on or before June 4th
to be up-to-date. This date is subject to change if rain or weather
cancels some May matches.
-
- NO-Shows-
If a couple does not show then they will forfeit their matches or
use their bank or make-up scores. Any couple who is scheduled
against a couple who does not show will be expected to show and will
play with a couple who's opponent also did not show. The course will
try to match up couples when it is known in advance a couple will
not be attending. It is important to inform us when you know you
will not be attending. When a couple's opponent does not show &
there is no other couple missing an opponent, then the couple will
play a sub couple (if available) or play with two other couples.
This will be the course's decision and made by a case by case basis.
To avoid these problems, WE STRONGLY encourage couples that know in
advance of their absence to make up these matches with their
scheduled opponent before the scheduled day. Please do not rely on
bank scores for all your make-ups. RULE- If the course is NOT
notified one hour before tee off that that couple will not be
playing that night, the league can declare "NO CALL-NO SHOW" and
that couple will not be able to use their bank scores. So it is
important to let us know if you cannot play.
-
- Rain-outs-
Bank scores will be used or the couples will have one week to make
it up.
- Standings-
Standings
will be posted with current handicaps each week.
- Subs or
replacements-
If one of the couple cannot play, the couple may be able to replace
one if someone is lost due to injury or other circumstances. It is
THE COURSE'S decision on what will be allowed. The course will
consider the replacement & be concerned with a sub being better in
skill for the player they replace. The course also can allow the
remaining player to play alone. Again, this a case by case situation
& the course will make the decision that is fair to both the couple
and its opponents.
